Chalmette Church Takes On Massive Commercial Water Damage
SERVPRO performed commercial water damage in this Chalmette church. A sewage backup occurred in floor drains, toilets, sinks and water fountains resulting in nearly 1,600 gallons of contaminated water throughout the facility. The flooring consisted of both high grade carpet and tile. While SERVPRO techs found no seepage under the tile, the carpet needed to have the blackwater removed to make the carpet safer to handle for disposal so the concrete slab underneath could get dried. The scale of this water damage required the use of nearly 70 air movers and 3 industrial dehumidifiers. The techs performed water damage restoration on a total of 15 rooms, including multiple rooms that needed carpet removal and flood cuts to remove roughly two feet of sheetrock from the floor up due to wicking.
